Start Flexible

Early in the hand, favor tiles that support more than one target line. A narrow hand can be strong, but only when the needed tiles are still available.

Use The Discard Pool

Every public discard changes the odds. If several needed tiles are already out, your hand may be effectively dead even if it looks close.

Defend Late

Near the end of the wall, avoid feeding obvious exposed hands. A safe discard may be worth more than chasing a low-probability win.
